Goole Town Tigers U15 - 12

Methley - 0

Goole Town Tigers played host to Methley on Saturday after a frustrating break from the league program due to late cancellations. However they didn’t let this disrupt their early season form.

After three wins from three the Goole side continued the excellent start with a powerful display from start to finish.

Striker Robertson wasted no time in warming the visiting keeper’s palms with a rasping drive before Goole’s intense early pressure paid dividends with a somewhat soft penalty award. Gibbon stepped up to nonchalantly beat the keeper with ease to put his side in front.

Jackson was causing Methley problems and found Robertson in space for number two with a fine finish. Goole had reverted to a back three of Allan, Pablo and Helm with Williams moving into a midfield three and he was next to try his luck with a long range effort with Methley’s keeper tipping it over the bar for a corner. Leo Mollan got in on the act with a smart finish to make it three before Robertson’s wild strike from range embarrassed the keeper to make it four.

Gabriel looking for the goal his fine first half performance merited, danced through three or four desperate tackles with only the keeper to beat, only to miss kick wide. Robertson turned provider with an audacious chip over the defence for Waud to race clear and finish with aplomb passed the on rushing keeper to make it five.

Tobey Mollan tried his luck from distance to be again denied by a fine save, before Gibbon finished with ease after great work from Waud to take his side into the break leading six goals to nil.

Goole made changes throughout but kept the formation with Proctor and Thompson sitting alongside Pablo at the start of the second half, Reo Maw was a spectator throughout but played high with great communication and foot work to switch play. Chances still came thick and fast with the home side hungry for more goals. Williams made it seven with a fine strike form twenty five yards giving the keeper no chance. Excellent work on the right from Jackson and Waud created another chance for Leo Mollan to finish with ease to make it eight with his second of the game. Gabriel found himself with an opportunity to score from only two yards but again with the goal gaping looked more likely to destroy the refreshment kiosk then registering his name on the scoresheet.

Helm playing on the left of the front three found Williams who tried his luck from range but again the keeper pulled off a great save to deny him his second and again was unfortunate to see his header from a corner crash against the bar.

Waud again worked his magic to release Leo Mollan for the forward to complete his hat trick with ease making it nine.

Broadley was next to get on the score sheet after working hard on the flanks all game he found time and space in the box to take Goole into double figures for the second time this season. Waud deservedly got his second after good play from Gibbon before Jackson got another assist to give Leo Mollan his fourth capping a fine performance.

Another excellent performance from the Goole side to take them back to the top of the league. Referees MoM was Ryan Jackson.
